Where the Ezzpedition takes us into the Chihuahuan Desert to learn about circadian biology and the sociology of running, this trip takes us into the Mediterranean to learn about endurance sports and pasta.
Ezz is partnering with Dallas's Pegasus Aquatics, one of the country's most respected open-water swim communities, for a week on Sant'Antioco — a crystal-water island off the southwest coast of Sardinia — blending open-water swimming, functional fitness, and the kind of foundational learning Ezz is built on. Also Giovanni's legendary 8-course fish fry.
Real transformation doesn't happen in a wellness weekend at the Marriott. It happens through continuous acquisition of knowledge and the formation of the right habits — reinforced when you put yourself somewhere unfamiliar, surrounded by people who are serious about growth, and let the environment do the teaching.
Pegasus brings two decades of open-water expertise, the logistics of a flawless trip abroad, and Giovanni — a swim guide who knows Sardinia's coastline like his own backyard. Ezz brings the "why": the physiology, the mindset, and the framework for turning a week of swims into a lasting shift on the road to functional supremacy.
The dedicated swimmers of Texas, with the dedicated members of Ezz.
For half a century, athletes were told that endurance runs on carbohydrates: load them, sip them, gel them, or bonk. The science is moving out from under that story. A well-trained human body carries tens of thousands of calories of fat and burns them beautifully at endurance pace — and the research on fat adaptation and metabolic flexibility keeps shrinking the role carbohydrates were assigned.
That's the week's classroom thread: what actually fuels long efforts, why the human animal is built for them, and how the swims each morning let you feel the answer instead of just reading it.
And yes — there will be pasta. That's the point. When you understand fuel, a plate of pasta in Sardinia becomes what it always was: a pleasure, not a strategy.
Based on Sant'Antioco, connected to mainland Sardinia by a bridge. Daily escorted swims of 2K–4K in beautifully clear, mid-70s water — always optional in distance, never about competition.
You don't need to be a competitive swimmer. Last year's trip included several non-Masters swimmers who had such a good time they came back. If you have a spouse or friend who doesn't swim, they're welcome too.

A $1,000 non-refundable deposit holds your spot. Space is limited, and Pegasus will be collecting firm commitments in the coming weeks.
Same underlying philosophy, different terrain. Where the Ezzpedition goes into the Chihuahuan Desert to disconnect and recalibrate, Sardinia goes into the Mediterranean to move, recover, and think alongside people who are serious about the same things you are.
